The instant Writ Petition has been filed by an Assistant Engineer working in the Sivagangai Electricity Distribution Circle, challenging the order of transfer granted in favour of the fourth respondent herein, who has been posted to MRT Sivagangai.

2. From the impugned order it is seen that the fourth respondent has been transferred from Virudhunagar Electricity Distribution Circle and posted to MRT Sivagangai.
3. The grievance of the writ petitioner is that though he is working in Sivagangai Electricity Distribution Circle, and he has already made a request to be posted at MRT Sivagangai. Instead of considering his station seniority and also considering the fact that he had never worked at MRT Sivagangai, his request has not been considered over and above the request of the fourth respondent herein.

The narration of the above said facts will clearly indicate that the Sivagangai Electricity Distribution Circle Office as well as the MRT Sivagangai Office are located within the same office campus and therefore, the petitioner would not have any right in invoking Board Proceedings No.5, dated 28.06.2017.

5. In case, if the petitioner is not inclined to work at the Sivagangai Electricity Distribution Circle and requests posting at MRT Sivagangai and any request is made, it is for the concerned authorities to consider the same on merits.
6. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed.
