PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to transfer the Patta for the petitioner's property comprised in Survey no. 1108/2A to an extent of 2505 Sq.ft (Plot No. 42), Nila Garden situated at Aathur Village, Manmangalam Taluk, Karur District, by considering the Petitioner's patta transfer application dated 22.07.2024.

The petitioner with a grievance that his application, dated 22.07.2024, seeking transfer of patta, pursuant to his sale deed in Doc.No.9518/2022, dated 03.10.2022, has not been considered by the respondents, has approached this Court.
2.Mr.B.Saravanan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents and submits that the subject land is classified as ''temple land'' and therefore, they are not in a position to grant patta to this petitioner.
3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner by producing a copy of the patta for the subject property and claims that the petitioner's vendor was already issued with a patta for the subject property in Patta No.3088.

4.This Court considered the rival submissions made and also perused the materials placed on record.
5.The petitioner has filed an application seeking transfer of patta, based on a sale deed in Doc.No.9518/2022, dated 03.10.2022. He also claims that his vendor was already issued with a patta in Patta No.3088. On the side of the respondents, a stand has been taken that the subject property is classified as a ''temple land''.
6. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to verify the revenue records as well as the Patta No.3088 and pass suitable orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of ten weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No costs.
