This Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India seeking for a direction to the respondent police to defreeze the petitioner's savings bank account in A/c.No.41548520045, State of Bank of India, Palankottai. 2.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that initially a case has been registered against the petitioner in CC.No.366 of 2023 and during the course of investigation of the said criminal case, the police have freezed the account No.A/c.No.41548520045. It is submitted now that the said case has already been disposed of and thereby, sought for suitable directions. 3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that the petitioner's representation has been received and once the details in respect of disposal of the said criminal case in CC.No.366 of 2023 is received by the respondent police, the respondent police will consider the representation of the petitioner. 2/5
4.Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and on perusal of the records, this Petition is disposed of directing the respondent police to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 04.08.2023 as quickly as possible, not later than two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to say that in case if the petitioner is not involved in any criminal case, the account of the petitioner requires to be de-freezed. No costs.
