PRAYER: Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the respondents 1 to 3 herein to provide adequate police protection to the life and limb of the petitioner on the basis of the representation given by the petitioner on 19.09.2023.

For Petitioner : Mr.S.Sundarapandian For Respondents 1 to 3 : Mr.SS.Madhavan Government Advocate (Crl. side) O R D E R This petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondent police to provide police protection from Respondent No.4 and his agents. 2.It is submitted by the learned Counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner's son has borrowed a sum of Rs.5 Lakhs from the fourth respondent finance company and though he has paid some installments, his son has committed default, basing on which, the persons belonging to fourth respondent finance company have influenced the third respondent police and also the collection agents of fourth respondent company and are threatening the petitioner and his wife and also abusing in filthy language. Therefore, sought protection from fourth respondent and his men. 2/5

3.Learned Government Advocate [Crl. Side] submits that the petitioner's son has committed default and thereby the fourth respondent has deployed collection agents.

4.Considering the submissions made by both sides, since the petitioner's son has committed default, the respondent bank or their collection agents though can inquire about the whereabouts of the borrower, they cannot abuse or assault or threaten the petitioner and his wife in respect of loan borrowed by the petitioner's son. 5.In view of the above, the respondent police are directed to complete the enquiry in respect of the representation given in C.S.R. No. 477 of 2023, as quickly as possible, not later than two [2] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
