ORDER : The Court made the following order :- The petitioner, who apprehends arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offence punishable under Sections 194 of BNSS, 108, 211 and 238 of 1/4

BNS Act in Crime No.94 of 2025 on the file of the respondent police, seeks anticipatory bail.

2. The case of the prosecution is that the petitioner is the mother in law of the deceased Narmathadevi. First accused is the husband of the deceased. After the marriage between the deceased and the 1st accused, a female child was born. Due to the dowry harassment made by the first accused, on 17.06.2025, the deceased committed suicide. Without informing the death to the police or the other Government Officers, the accused had taken the body to the native of the first accused and completed the cremation by burning her body. On 18.06.2025, the defacto complainant, who is the elder sister of the deceased, came to be aware of a video sent by the deceased to the relatives and thereafter, she had lodged the complaint.

3.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is an innocent person and he has not committed any offence as alleged by the prosecution.

4.The learned Government Advocate(Crl.side) for the respondent submits that 2/4

on 17.06.2025, the deceased committed suicide by hanging. But without informing the same to the RDO or the police officials and without conducting post mortem, the accused persons have burnt the body in the cremation ground. 5.Considering the facts and circumstances of this case and also the overt act attributed against the petitioner, this Court is not inclined to grant anticipatory bail to the petitioner.
