O RDER This Writ Petition is filed seeking for a direction to the respondents 1 to 3 to permit the petitioner and his family to participate in the Valavanthan Kanthari Amman Mavilakku Festival scheduled to be held on 26.09.2023 at Palkarai Village, Ramanathapuram, Ramanathapuram District. 2.It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the rival party in the village have been conducting the temple festival and they have not been accepting the donations/taxes for the temple festival and also they are excommunicating the petitioner from participating in any event including the temple festival.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) submits that basing on the enquiry conducted by the police, there was no excommunication being practised against the petitioner. Insofar as the temple festival is concerned, it is submitted that the rival parties are prepared to accept the donations/taxes from the petitioner and also to permit the petitioner to participate in the temple festival.

4.Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel on either side and on perusal of the records, this Petition is disposed of directing the respondent police to see that the petitioner is permitted to participate in the temple festival to be held today and to see that the donations/taxes are being collected from the petitioner. No costs.
