The present Writ Petition has been filed by a Commercial Inspector working in the TANGEDCO, challenging the charge memo, dated 13.05.2024.

2. A perusal of the charge memo reveals that several allegations have been made as against the writ petitioner including that the petitioner has 2/5

provided illegal service connection to the properties standing in the name of his mother. The petitioner has raised various factual disputes as a defence to quash the charge memo. The power of the Court is very limited in quashing of the charge memo. Unless the petitioner is able to point out that the charge memo has been issued with malafide intention or has been issued by the incompetent authority, the question of interfering in the charge memo does not arise.

3. In view of the above said facts, there are no merits in this Writ Petition. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently connected Miscellaneous Petitions are closed. 23.10.2024 NCC : Yes/No 1/2 Index : Yes / No Internet : Yes / No ebsi 3/5
