O RDER This criminal original petition has been filed seeking to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.423 of 2020 dated 14.07.2020 on the file of the Respondent Police.

2.The case of the petitioner is that on 14.07.2020, the petitioner along with some other persons gathered to protest opposing the Road Tax and making some other grievances during the COVID-19 pandemic period. Hence, a case in Crime No.423 of 2020 for the offences punishable under Section 143, 188 & 269 of IPC has been registered for violation of Covid - 19 protocols. The present petition is filed to quash the First Information Report in Crime No.423 of 2020. 3.It is brought to the notice of this Court that the Government of Tamil Nadu has taken a policy decision to drop all the cases, registered against the public during the pandemic period for violation. In pursuance of the same, the present FIR was closed as action dropped.

4.In view of the same nothing survives for further adjudication in this case. The prayer sought for in this petition has become infructuous. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.

5.Accordingly, this criminal original petition stands dismissed as infructuous.
