PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the Respondents Nos.4 to 6 to dispose of the petitioner's representation dated 18.09.2023 submitted in person for taking necessary action against the 7th respondent and his men for their wilful action of disturbing the Kuthirai Eduppu Festival of Sree Kanchiavanamswamy Temple at Melur, Madurai District scheduled to be held on 03.10.2023 and 04.10.2023 thereby participating in the capacity of Periya Ambalam with a malafide intention to create law and order problem and also receive First Honour at the cost of the petitioner and other persons. This writ petition is filed seeking for a mandamus directing the respondents 4 to 6 to dispose of the representation dated 18.09.2023.
2. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 6 submitted that the respondent police have not received any representation from the petitioner.
3. Mr.D.Rajesh, learned counsel intervened on behalf of the 7th respondent requested time. However, the said request is declined since the 2/5
request of the petitioner is to give a direction to the respondent police to dispose of the representation of the petitioner.
4. Considering the submissions, this writ petition is disposed of giving liberty to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation before the respondent police directly duly signed by him, on which, the respondent police are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner by speaking to all the stakeholders concerned in respect of the issues and also keeping in view that the festival is scheduled to be held on 03.10.2023. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
