PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition is filed under Section 482 of Cr.P.C, to direct the 1st respondent to ensure the Police Protection to the life and liberty of the petitioner, in order to save the life of the petitioner till the situation arrived to the peaceful end and pass such further or other orders. O RDER This criminal original petition has been filed seeking direction to the the 1st respondent to ensure the Police Protection to the life and liberty of the petitioner, in order to save the life of the petitioner till the situation arrived to the peaceful end.

2.Expressing and fearing the life of the petitioner at the hands of the accused in Crime No.411 of 2017 on the file of the Pudukkottai Police Station, Thoothukudi District, which is pending before the learned Principal District Judge, Thoothukudi, for trial, the petitioner has given a representation before the respondent Police Station. Now it is stated to be pending before them. He is the star witness in the above said case.

3.Let the above said representation be disposed of by the respondent police on its own merits and in accordance with law, within a week from the date of receipt of a copy of this order, by summoning the petitioner as well as the counter parties and after ascertaining the ground situation as to whether any real life threat exists at the hands of counter parties. Depending upon the enquiry, the 2/4

parties can workout their remedy through appropriate proceedings, if so, aggrieved.

4.With the above said directions and liberty, this criminal original petition stands disposed of.
