ORDER

The present Writ Petition has been filed by the retired employee of the respondent Transport Corporation, seeking a Mandamus for payment of interest due to belated disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, he had attained superannuation on 30.06.2019 and his terminal benefits were released only in January, 2021. Seeking interest for belated disbursement of terminal benefits, the petitioner has sent a representation to the respondents on 19.09.2024. Since the same has not been considered, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondents herein are directed to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits from the due date till the date of realization, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 2/4

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
