ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for a writ of mandamus directing the second respondent to consider and pass order upon the petitioner's representation dated 27.09.2024 requesting to disburse him the crop insurance amount in respect of agriculture lands in Survey Nos. 31/3, 37/2B, 60/1A, 60/1B, 61/3C, 14/1, 27/1A & 68/4 having total extent of 3.695 hectares situated at V.Paramakudi Village, Sengudi Revenue Group, R.S.Mangalam Taluk and Ramanathapuram District, under the scheme of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the year 2018-2019.

2. Heard both sides. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. The case of the petitioner is that he have agriculture land in Survey Nos.31/3, 37/2B, 60/1A, 60/1B, 61/3C, 14/1, 27/1A & 68/4 of V.Paramakudi Village, Sengudi Revenue Group, R.S.Mangalam Taluk and Ramanathapuram District. He raised paddy crops in the said land during the year 2018-2019, however, due to severe drought, the entire crops were damaged. The petitioner also insured the same with the third Page No.3/6

respondent Insurance Company. Hence, he sent a representation to the second respondent on 27.09.2024 seeking disbursement of crops insurance amount under the scheme of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the year 2018-2019. But, no steps have been taken so far. Hence, the petitioner is before this Court.

4. Considering the facts and circumstances of the case, this Court, without going into the merits of the case, directs the second respondent to convene the committee and give a disposal to the petitioner's representation on its own merits and in accordance with law within a period of two months.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
