The case of the appellant is that the Employment Exchange has not sponsored his name for appointment to the post of Helper (Electrician) in the respondent - Electricity Board, though he had registered his name in the Employment Exchange. The learned Single Judge, while considering the case of the appellant, found that though the appellant got his name registered in the Employment Exchange, the same was expired during the month of May, 2013 and he did not renew his registration immediately, but he had renewed his registration only on 30.08.2013. The list of eligible candidates was prepared and sent by the Employment Exchange to the respondent -

Electricity Board on 16.08.2013, by that time, there was no renewal of his registration. Hence, the learned Single Judge, by the impugned order dismissed the writ petition giving liberty to the appellant to participate in the selection process, if any, notified for appointment to the said post in future.

2. Being aggrieved by the said order, the appellant has preferred this writ appeal, on the ground that he got his name registered on 19.05.1992 and he had been periodically renewing the same. The renewal was upto May, 2016 without any break. Therefore, the omission on the part of the Employment Exchange to sponsor his name is unreasonable.

3. The above contention of the appellant is contrary to the statement made by the learned counsel appearing for the respondent - Electricity Board and has no supporting documents in support of the said contention. If the appellant had not renewed his registration on the date of sponsoring the names of candidates, he cannot blame the Employment Exchange for such lapses. Therefore, this Court does not find any merit in this appeal.

4. Accordingly, this writ appeal is dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed. [G.J., J.] [R.P., J.] 20.03.2025 NCC :
