application dated 31.08.2021 sent through the recommendation from the office of the Ministry of Defence, New Delhi to the respondents herein and further application dated 20.03.2023 in the light of Requisition letter dated 15.06.1964 from Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, letter dated 25.04.1967 from the Ministry of Defence, New Delhi, and Circular dated 30.07.1983 issued by Government of India / Bharat Sakar, Ministry of Home Affairs/Grs.Mantralaya, New Delhi to all the State Governments to take expeditious action on applications from serving personnels for allotment of Government Waste Land and to settle the allotment as expeditiously as possible. The petitioner has made a request for assignment of certain lands that he is eligible for assignment and submitted an application on 20.03.2023 and filed this writ petition for a Mandamus, to direct the the respondents to grant assignment/patta to the petitioner. 2.Mrs.D.Farjana Ghoushia, learned Special Government 2/5
Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents on instructions submits that based on the application of this petitioner, the respondents are conducting an enquiry and they would take a decision as to whether this petitioner is eligible for assignment or not within a reasonable time.
3.Considering the submission made by the learned Special Government Pleader that they are conducting an enquiry based on the petitioner's application, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to conclude the same within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order strictly in accordance with law.
