PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation, dated 24.08.2022, with regard to issue free patta to the petitioner's possession of agricultural land situated at Survey No. 7/28 in Pothavur Village, Srirangam Taluk, Trichy District within the period that may be stipulated by this Court.

The petitioner, claiming to be the owner of the land in S.No.7/28 in Pothavur Village, Srirangam Taluk, Trichy has submitted a representation on 24.08.2022 to the Thasildar, Srirangam Taluk/the second respondent herein, to issue a patta for the above land that he is in occupation of the land over a period of 30 years and approached this Court that his representation has not been considered by the second respondent so far. 2.Mr.B.Saravanan, learned Additional Government Pleader takes notice for the respondents submits that this petitioner is not entitled for free patta for the subject land in S.No.7/28, since the petitioner's father and his grand mother are having lands to an extent of 85 cents in S.No.72/6 and 48 cents of land in S.No.72/5 respectively.

3. Considering the submission made on behalf of the respondents, this Court is not inclined to entertain this writ petition. The respondents are not supposed to keep the application of this petitioner, without passing any orders. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to pass suitable orders, on the application of this petitioner, assigning reasons for not considering his application within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. The petitioner is at liberty to work out his remedy in the manner known to law. No costs.
