It is brought to the notice of this Court by the learned counsel appearing on either side that the parties have already come to settlement before the Lok Adalat, which was conducted before the Judicial Magistrate Court, Sivakasi. A copy of the settlement memo was also filed. The husband of the third respondent and father of respondents 1 and 2 has agreed to pay the maintenance and also the education expenses.

2. The petitioner before this Court is the friend of the husband of the third respondent. In view of the above development, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the proceedings pending.

3. In the result, the proceedings in M.C..No.2 of 2016 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Sivakasi is hereby quashed and the Criminal Original Petition is allowed.
