ORDER
This petition has been filed to quash the proceedings pending against the petitioner/husband in C.C.No.165 of 2014, on the file of the learned District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate No.1, Usilampatty, for the offence under Sections 498(A) and 294(b) IPC, Section 4 of TNPWH Act and Section 4 of Dowry Prohibition Act. 2.Today, when the matter has been taken up for hearing, a joint compromise memo dated 24.01.2020, signed by the the respective parties and their respective learned Counsel has been filed that as per the settlement agreement entered into between the petitioner and the respondent, in the Lok Adalat before the District Court, the petitioner has deposited a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakh) in the name of his two daughters on 30.12.2019 and the relevant portion of the joint compromise dated 24.01.2020 is extracted hereunder:
"It is submitted that as per the Lok Adalat Settlement agreement dated 03.12.2019, the petitioner has deposited a sum of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakh Only) in the name of his two daughters on 30.12.2019. Crl.O.P(MD)No.2957 of 2017 be read as part of this joint compromise memo. Hence, this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to record this joint memo of compromise made by both the parties concerned and quash the C.C.No.165 of 2014, pending on the file of the 1st respondent."
3.The identity of the petitioner and the respondent has been verified through the Head Constable attached to the first respondent Police Station.
4.By recording the above said joint compromise memo dated 24.01.2020, the criminal original petition is disposed of and the proceedings in C.C.No.165 of 2014 on the file of the District Munsif cum Judicial Magistrate No.I, Usilampatty is quashed. 5.The joint compromise dated 24.01.2020 shall form part of this order.
