ORDER

The petitioner has submitted a representation before the respondent Police seeking permission to conduct the temple festival at Shri Muthumariamman Temple scheduled from 24.08.2025 to 03.09.2025 at Siruvayal Village, Paramakudi Taluk, Ramanathapuram District. The request of the petitioner has been rejected by the 2nd respondent, by his proceedings dated 20.08.2025. Challenging the same, the present writ petition has been filed.

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submits that owing to the temple dispute, two persons have been murdered in the year 2009 and 2018, for which, two criminal cases have been registered. One case ended in conviction and another case is at the stage of questioning under Section 313 Cr.P.C. In these circumstances, if any permission is granted for 2/4

conducting the temple festival, it may create further law and order problem. Therefore, the request of the petitioner has been rejected.

3. In view of the law and order concerns, this Court is not inclined to interfere with the proceedings of the 2nd respondent dated 20.08.2025.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. No costs. 28.08.2025 ogy NCC : Yes / No.
