ORDER
This Writ Petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider the Petitioner's 1/3
representation dated 21.10.2019 and to direct the third respondent to provide electricity connection for the Petitioner's house bearing No.1/67, of Kumbakonam Panchayat Union, Koranattukarruppur-2 Village, Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District within the time limit stipulated by this Court.
2.Heard the learned counsel appearing on either side and perused the materials placed before this Court. 3.The case of the petitioner is that the Petitioner is the owner of land in S.Nos.259/26 and 259/29 of Koranattukaruppur-2 Village, Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District by succession and he constructed a house in the said land. He would further submit that the Petitioner has submitted an application for Electricity Service Connection before the third respondent on 15.10.2019 along with necessary charges. Further, the Petitioner has also sent a representation/requisition to the third respondent on 21.10.2019, requesting him to give electricity connection. The said representation is said to be still pending, without any progress Hence, the petitioner has come forward with the present Writ Petition for the relief stated supra.
4.The learned counsel appearing for the respondents/Electricity Board,on instructions, would submit that if the application submitted by the Petitioner, relevant documents and required fees are otherwise in order, the respondents are ready to provide electricity service connection to the Petitioner. 5.Therefore, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim made by the petitioner, the third respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 21.10.2019 and provide electricity connection to the house of the Petitioner in D.No.1/67, of Kumbakonam Panchayat Union, Koranattukarruppur-2 Village, Kumbakonam Taluk, Thanjavur District, if the application, relevant documents and payment of required fees everything is otherwise in order, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With the above direction, the Writ Petition is disposed of. No Costs.
