PRAYER: Writ Petition, filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant 28 days ordinary leave without police escort to petitioners son Karthik, S/o. Subramani (Convict Prisoner No.20364, PID No.123858) confined at Central Prison, Tiruchirappalli, forthwith considering petitioners representation dated 12.09.2024. O R D E R

The Writ Petition had been filed in the nature of mandamus seeking a direction against the respondents to consider the representation, dated 12.09.2024, by which, the petitioner has sought ordinary leave for 28 days without escort to be granted to her son Karthick, who is a convict prisoner No.20364 PID No.123858 confined at Central Prison, Trichy.

2.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor forwarded a copy of order passed by the 3rd respondent, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons, Trichy Range, in No.473/Mu.Vu/2024, dated 16.10.2024, by which, the representation of the petitioner had been rejected. 2/4

3.In view of the above, the writ petition seeking mandamus would not lie and hence, the Writ petition stands dismissed, granting liberty to the petitioner to challenge the order of rejection, in the manner known to law.
