ORDER

This petition has been filed to quash the proceedings in D.V.C.No.5 of 2025 on the file of the Judicial Magistrate, Mudukulathur, Ramanathapuram District.

2. The facts of the case is that the first respondent got married to the first petitioner on 15.11.2021; that at the time of marriage, sufficient sridhana has been given to the first respondent by her parents; that a boy child was also born out of the wedlock; that from the date of marriage, there was a matrimonial difference between the first respondent and the first petitioner; that thereafter, at the instigation of other petitioners, who are in-laws of the first respondent, the first petitioner had committed cruelty upon the first respondent; that the first petitioner failed to maintain the respondents, who are his wife and son and thus committed the aforesaid offences.

3. When this case was taken up for hearing on 16.09.2025, this Court had referred the case to the Mediation and Conciliation Centre attached to this Bench. It appears from the mediation report, dated 22.09.2025, the parties have arrived at a settlement. The settlement agreement is extracted hereunder: 2/6

4. In view of the compromise, this Court is inclined to quash the impugned proceedings. Hence, this Criminal Original Petition is allowed. The Mediation Report, dated 23.09.2025 shall form part of this order. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
