properties in S.No.348/2 - 16 cents, S.No.316/14 - 4 cents, S.No.317/C8 - 8 cents and 318/13-10 cents situated in Nandavanapatti Village, Boothalur Taluk, Thanjavur District on considering the petitioner's representation dated 12.07.2025.

2.W.P.(MD)No.23828 of 2025 has been filed seeking for a direction to the third respondent to conduct survey of the petitioner's lands in Survey No.316/14 - 0.04 cents, S.No.317/C8 - 0.08 cents, S.No. 318/13 - 0.10 cents belonging to Nandavanapatti Village, Boothalur Taluk, Thanjavur District and mark the properties with bounds and meets and a separate patta be issued in the petitioner's name on considering his applications dated 14.06.2025 and 16.06.2025. 3.The grievance of the petitioner is that he had purchased the land in question way back in the year 1982 in a court auction. However, since there were certain disputes regarding the said land due to the interference of third parties into the possession of the petitioner, a civil suit was filed. According to the petitioner, the Deputy Tahsildar, Thanjavur, had in fact passed an order dated 08.05.1983, directing patta to be issued in his name. Though several requests have been made to the revenue authorities to issue patta, till date, the said representations were not acted upon. 3/7

According to the petitioner, the representations were made on 21.06.2025 and thereafter on 12.07.2025.

4.Both parties are present and by considering their arguments, these Writ Petitions are disposed of at the admission stage itself. 5.Once a representation is made by the party concerned for the purpose of issuing patta, it is incumbent on the authorities to enquire and accordingly act upon the said representation for issuing patta. Keeping the representations pending is not in accordance with the Patta Passbook Act, 1983.

6.In the said circumstances, the respondents are directed to dispose of the representation of the petitioner dated 12.07.2025, within a period of eight [8] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. It is needless to say that the survey to be conducted as prayed for by the petitioner in W.P.(MD)No.23828 of 2025, shall be subject to the outcome of the disposal of the representation for issuance of patta. 4/7

7.With the above direction, these Writ Petitions stand disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
