ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking for issuance of writ of mandamus directing the respondents to give electricity service connection to the petitioner's dwelling house at S.No.254/21 to an extent of 0.01.00 hector situated at Athavathur East Village, Srirangam Taluk, Trichy District, on the basis of the petitioner's application dated 09.09.2024, in the light of the order made by this Court in the case of Kamalam Vs., The Divisional Engineer (W.P(MD).No.19052 of 2024), within a period that may be stipulated by this Court.

2. Heard both sides. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that he constructed a house in the land assigned in his name, for which, he has also regularly paid house tax. The petitioner applied the electricity service connection to the respondents for the said house. However, the respondents have not considered the same so far. Hence, seeks direction of this Court. 4. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents would submit that though the petitioner is residing in that house, his father objects to grant of electricity service connection.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner also gets consent of his father.

6. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to submit a fresh application in this regard along with consent of his father to the respondents. On such application being made, the respondents are directed to consider the same and effect electricity service connection to the petition mentioned house. Such exercise shall be completed within a period of one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
