This writ petition is filed seeking for a mandamus directing the respondents to grant permission and police protection to perform the Puratasi Thiruvizha from 03.10.2023 to 05.10.2023 at Nadumudalaikulam Village, Mudhalaikulam Hamlet, Usilampatti Taluk, Madurai District basing on the representation of the petitioner dated 22.09.2023.

2. Mr.P.C.Rajapriyan, learned counsel intervened and stating that there is an existing association and the petitioner is not connected to the said association.

3. The learned Government Advocate (Crl.side) appearing for the respondents submitted that the respondent police have not received any representation.

4. Considering the submissions, this writ petition is disposed of giving liberty to the petitioner to submit a fresh representation before the respondent 2/4

police and on filing on which, the respondent police are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner and dispose of the same by following the procedure keeping in view that the festival is scheduled to be held on 03.10.2023. No costs.
