The mother of Rajenthiran, aged 22 years, is the petitioner before this Court seeking issuance of Writ of Habeas Corpus alleging that her son, who is pursuing first year degree course, went missing on 09.02.2022 after searching in all known places, complaint to the second respondent on 10.10.2022 was lodged. Same was taken her for enquiry by the second respondent and CSR receipt was issued. However, no action was taken and thereafter they registered an FIR in Crime No.319/2022 for 'man missing'. Inspite of the public notice informing the missing of her son and his photographs, till date the police has not traced her son.
2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted a detailed report filed by the respondent police stating that the investigation so far conducted indicates that Rajenthiran, son of the petitioner had the tenancy of transgender and been in association with transgenders, who used to visit the village for cultural programmes and in all known places search has been conducted but so far no clue. It is further submitted that a team has been constituted consisting of Arunrajkumar and Selvakumar, Head Constable and Grade-I Constable respectively, to trace the missing boy.

Considering the report filed by the respondent police and the nature of information so far collected, this Court is of the view that it is suffice to direct the respondent police to depute few more police personnel to trace the boy and as soon as they get any information about the boy, same can be passed on to the petitioner herein. Likewise if the petitioner gets any information about his missing son, she share it with the Investigation Officer and cooperate with the investigation.
