JUDGMENT

This appeal has been filed by the appellant as against the judgment and conviction dated 05.04.2023 passed by the Special Court for Exclusive Trial of Cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, Madurai in SplSC.No.54 of 2020. 2.By judgment dated 05.04.2023, the appellant has been found guilty for the offence under Sections 9(m) r/w 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, convicted and sentenced to undergo five years rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs.1,000/- and in default to pay the fine, to undergo six months simple imprisonment. 3.The learned counsel for the appellant submits that the appellant has undergone the sentence of five years imposed by the trial court and he has been released from prison.

4.The learned Government Advocate (CrlSide) appearing for the respondent seeks a short accommodation to verify and report. 2/5

5.The learned counsel for appellant confirmed that the appellant has been released from prison after undergoing the punishment. 6.Recording the above submission of the learned counsel for the appellant, this criminal appeal is closed. Consequently connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
