O R D E R

The present Writ Petition has been filed by a Special Grade Tradesman of the respondent Transport Corporation, who had attained superannuation on 30.04.2019 seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits.

2. According to the learned counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, though the petitioner has retired from service on 30.04.2019, the terminal benefits were released only on 24.01.2021. Hence, the petitioner has addressed a communication to the respondent on 20.08.2024, seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of terminal benefits. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and the learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent authority is directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% p.a., from the due date till the date of 2/4

disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above said observations, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
