Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to pay the petitioner interest at the rate of 6% annum, for the period of delay from 24.06.2021 to 26.03.2023, in paying the amounts paid towards the terminal benefits namely EPF Employee's Contribution Gratuity and Encashment of Leave of her deceased husband/employee (Late) A.Murugesan Staff No.97DR2114 within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court and without affecting the right to claim balance amounts towards those benefits. ORDER
The instant writ petition has been filed by the wife of the deceased employee of the respondent transport corporation, seeking payment of interest for the belated disbursement of the terminal benefits. 2.According to the learned Counsel appearing for the writ petitioner, the petitioner's husband has passed away while in service on 23.06.2021 and the terminal benefits were released only on 26.03.2023. Hence, the petitioner has sent a representation on 20.08.2024 seeking payment of interest. Since there is no response, the present writ petition has been filed. 3.Considering the above said facts, the respondent transport corporation are directed to pay interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the due date till the date of disbursement within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4.With the above said observations, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
