ORDER

Heard the learned counsel appearing for the revision petitioners and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the official respondents. Issuance of notice to the private respondents is dispensed with.

2. The petitioners are figuring as plaintiffs in O.S.No.48 of 2016 on the file of the District Munsif Court, Bodinayakanur. The petitioners filed the said suit seeking declaratory relief in respect of an election held for the suit society. In the said suit, the petitioners filed I.A.No.5 of 2023 to send for the report dated 17.03.2003 submitted by the Deputy Inspector General of Registration, Madurai. It is obviously a public document. Therefore, the question of sending for such document does not arise at all. The certified document can very well be marked. The petitioners or any one of them are at liberty to apply for the certified copy of the said report before the second respondent. The office of the second respondent will issue a certified copy of the same in terms of Section 76 of the Indian Evidence Act, 1872, within 7 days from the date of receipt of such application. Such certified copy can of-course be in evidence by the plaintiffs. 3/5

3. With the aforesaid liberty to the petitioners and direction to the second respondent, the civil revision petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
