O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to issue legal heir certificate to the petitioner for his deceased father A.Chidambaram and his deceased mother C.Bharathi in accordance with law, by considering the representation of the petitioner, dated 27.09.2022.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is the adopted son of Late A.Chidambaram, S/o.Arunagiri and C.Bharathi, W/o.Chidambaram and D/o.Narayana Nadar. After the death of his parents, on 27.09.2022, he applied for legal heir certificate to the respondent through online with all necessary documents to show that he is the son of Late Chidambaram and Bharathi. His application has been numbered in online as TN-7202209272970 and he has also paid necessary fees of Rs.60/-. But, on the same day, without analysing the same, the respondent has rejected his application for legal heir certificate. Hence, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition.

3. Heard Mr.S.Karthikeyan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Gandhiraj, learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

Considering the prayer sought for by the petitioner, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to conduct an enquiry and pass appropriate orders, on the application filed by the petitioner dated 27.09.2022, within a period of sixteen weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
