O R D E R

The writ petitioner filed this Petition for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the 3rd respondent to grant permission and provide police protection for conducting the volley ball tournament scheduled on 07.10.2023 and 08.10.2023 at A.Kalappur Village, Singampunari Taluk, Sivagangai District, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 14.09.2023.

2. Mr.R.M.Anbunithi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents.

3.Heard both sides.

4. The representation was made by the petitioner on 14.09.2023 seeking permission and police protection to conduct the volley ball Tournament from 07.10.2023 and 08.10.2023. The grievance of the petitioner is that in spite of expiry of reasonable time, the above said representation was not considered by the third respondent. 2/5

5.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that similar programme was arranged in the last year. At that time, there was an issue between two groups. Over which a case in Crime No.62 of 2023 has been registered. He would further submit that if fresh representation is made by the petitioner by mentioning alternative day after 02.11.2023, they will consider the same favourably.

6.In view of the above said undertaking given by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, there shall be a direction to the petitioner to give fresh representation after 02.11.2023. On such receipt of representation, the third respondent shall consider the same, immediately, in the light of the circular of the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu, Chennai in Rc.007301/Genl.I (1)/2019 dated 09.04.2019. 7.With the above said directions, this writ petition stands disposed of.
