PRAYER:Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to sanction and disburse the monetary benefits admissible to the petitioner with 50 percent back wages with continuity of service and all attendant benefit from the date of dismissal (i.e., 17.03.2001) till the date of superannuation and also the terminal benefits admissible to the petitioner.

ORDER

The instant writ petition has been filed by a retired employee of the respondent transport corporation, seeking a mandamus for sanction and disbursement of eligible monetary benefits to the petitioner with 50% of backwages and continuity of service with all attendant benefits.

2. Pending writ petition, the respondent management has sanctioned 50% of backwages as per the proceedings dated 21.10.2024. However, the terminal benefits have not yet been disbursed to the petitioner.

3. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent transport corporation seeks time to disburse the 50% of already sanctioned backwages and the terminal benefits.

4. Considering the above said facts, the respondent transport corporation is directed to disburse 50% of backwages of Rs.4,46,283/- on or before 31.01.2025. The other terminal benefits shall be released on or before 30.06.2025.

5. With the above said observation, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
