(Order of the Court was made by R.MAHADEVAN, J.) The petitioner has come forward with this writ petition praying to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to complete the construction of Culvert in the link road between National Highways 210 and the East Coast Road (ECR) at Kothiyarkottai, by complying the conditions imposed in the proceedings of the Executive Engineer Water Resource Organization (WRO) Lower Vaigai Basin Division, Paramakudi in foj vz;.3265 tgp/,tm2/nfh.3(1)/2022/ehs;& 30.08.202, addressed to the 3rd respondent, within a time frame.

Heard Mr.V.Panneer Selvam, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.P.Thilak Kumar, learned Government Pleader appearing for the respondents. By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 2/5

According the petitioner, in order to avoid stagnation of water in the petitioner's village, the authorities of Public Works Department as well as the Highways Department decided to construct a culvert in the link road between National Highways 210 and the East Coast Road (ECR) at Kothiyarkottai and though the tender was issued for the said work on 21.12.2021 and the preliminary work and bed concrete work were completed during May - 2022, till date, no steps have been taken to complete the said work. Hence, the Writ Petition.

By producing the proceedings of the Assistant Divisional Engineer (Highways) - 3rd respondent in Na.Ka.No.
187/2022/Aa1, dated 16.11.2022, addressed to him, the learned Government Pleader, on instructions, submitted that 90% of the work has already been completed and the remaining work will be completed within a period of three months.

Recording the said statement of the learned Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction to the respondents to complete the construction of culvert in the link road between National Highways 210 and the East Coast 3/5
