Respondents PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing Rs.2,000/- to all 300 beneficiaries per month as a rent till the re-construction of 300 houses at Annai Indra Nagar, Manjalmedu New Colony, Arapalayam, Madurai and consequently direct the respondents to construct basic amenities like community hall, children's park, Library, Primary Health Centre, Parking and Police Station in our colony by considering the petitioner's representation dated 07.09.2019 within the time stipulated by this Court.

ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.) The prayer sought for by the petitioner to pay rent to them for a period of two years till the re-construction of the houses is completed, cannot be granted in a writ petition. It is the decision to be taken by the Slum Clearance Board and the Government of Tamil Nadu and we cannot issue a direction as sought for. 2.Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed. However, the petitioner is permitted to pursue his representation before the authorities. No costs.
