ORDER

The above writ petition is filed for a mandamus to the respondents 2 and 3 to rectify the mistake relating to the extent of the property of the petitioner in the patta to be in tune with the extent set out in the sale deed.

2. The grievance of the petitioner is that he had purchased an extent of 45 cents in Survey No.9/2B of Kullurchanthai Village, Aruppukkottai Taluk, Virudhunagar under a registered sale deed, dated 02.11.2012. After he had applied for a patta, he has been granted patta in Patta No.806. A perusal of which would show that the extent of the property has been mentioned as 0.16.00 acres that is 40 cents. Therefore, he has made an application to the respondents to rectify the same on 07.10.2024. Since the representation did not evoke any response, the petitioner is before this Court.

3. Heard the counsels on either side.

4. Considering the limited request made by the petitioner, a mandamus is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 07.10.2024 and pass orders rectifying the said defect within a period of four (4) months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

5. With the said observations, this Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
