ORDER : The Court made the following order :-. The petitioners, who apprehend arrest at the hands of the respondent police for the alleged offences under Sections 296(b), 316(2), 85 and 351 (2) of BNS 2023 read with Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act in Crime No. 19 of 2024 on the file of the respondent police, seek anticipatory bail.

2. Considering the nature of dispute, the parties were referred to the mediation centre. The husband and the defacto complainant were able to come to a settlement and they decided to reunite and live happily. A settlement agreement dated 26.11.2024 has also been signed by the parties. The mediation report is also available before this Court.

In the light of the above, there shall be a direction to the respondent police to resort to the procedure under Section 35 of BNSS and complete the investigation as expeditiously as possible.
