ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed by an Association of Municipal Employees seeking a direction for payment of minimum wages to the contract employees on the basis of G.O(2D)No.36, Labour Welfare and Skill Development (J1) Department, dated 16.06.2023.

2. According to the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner, the Sanitary Workers working in various Municipalities are not been paid minimum wages as per the G.O referred above. Hence, the Association of 3/7

Sanitary Workers has given a representation to the second respondent herein on 31.07.2023. The said representation is pending before the second respondent as on today. The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that he would be satisfied if a direction is issued to the second respondent for disposal of the said representation.

3. In view of the above said facts, the second respondent is directed to dispose of the representation given by the writ petitioner on 31.07.2023 in the light of G.O(2D)No.36, Labour Welfare and Skill Development (J1) Department, dated 16.06.2023 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve (12) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the above said direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
