Respondents Prayer : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court to issue a Writ of of Mandamus, directing the official respondents No.1 to 5 to take an action for the religious right of worshiping our temple named Sr.Kamatchi Amman, situated at our Nambanpatti Village, Mangottai Panchayat, Alangudi Taluk, Pudukkottai District whenever is necessary without interference of the 6th and 7th respondents and their men and agents implementing the peace committee decision dated 13.01.2023.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner wants this Court to direct the authorities to implement the peace committee decision taken on 13.01.2023. I have 2/4

been consistently holding that a peace committee decision has no legal consequence as such.

3.Be that as it may, the right of the petitioner to offer worship and participate in community festival cannot be prevented. In fact, the learned counsel for the seventh respondent categorically states that the petitioner is free to exercise his right of worship and no one will come in his way. In other words, the petitioner can take part in the religious events like any other devotee.

4.Recording the submission of the learned counsel for the seventh respondent, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
