PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give patta to the petitioner land situated in Survey No.740/5 in Anjugramam Village, Agatheeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District, as per G.O.(Ms) No.480, Revenue and Disaster Management Department dated 11.09.2020, based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.10.2022.

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to give patta to the petitioner land situated in Survey No.740/5 in Anjugramam Village, Agatheeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District, as per G.O.(Ms) No.480, Revenue and Disaster Management Department dated 11.09.2020, based on the petitioner's representation dated 07.10.2022. 2/5

2. The case of the petitioner is that she is the absolute owner of the property in Survey No.740/5 situated at Anjugramam Village, Agatheeswaram Taluk, Kanyakumari District, by way of unregistered sale deed dated 02.06.1986. She made a representation dated 07.10.2022, before the respondents seeking Patta for the said property. Since there is no progress, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard Mr.S.Saravanakumar, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.A.Kannan, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

4. Considering the above facts, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the first respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 07.10.2022 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the parties concerned, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 3/5

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
