ORDER

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to to dispose of the petitioner's appeal pending in D5/17200/2017 at an earliest.

2.Heard Mr.N.Balakrishan, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.D.Sadiq Raja, learned Additional Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondent. By consent of both the parties, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself. 3.The grievance of the petitioner is that the petitioner's land has been erroneously classified as Local Fund Road. Hence, the petitioner seeks to rectify the said mistake.

4. The learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner is the owner of the petition mentioned property. The petitioner's application seeking correction in the Survey and Settlement was rejected by the Revenue Divisional Officer by order dated 01.09.2017. Hence, the petitioner preferred an appeal. Since no action had been taken on the same, the petitioner filed W.P.(MD)No.18412 of 2018 and obtained an order of direction directing the District Revenue Officer to dispose of the appeal preferred by the petitioner within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the order. Even thereafter, the respondent has not taken any steps to correct the said entries. Hence, the petitioner has again come before this Court with the present writ petition.

5.No prejudice would be caused to the respondent, if the petitioner's appeal is disposed of within a time frame to be fixed by this Court, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner.

6.Accordingly, this Court directs the respondent to dispose of the appeal dated 06.10.2017 pertaining to the correction made in the revenue records (survey and settlement) and pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording a fair hearing to the petitioner, within a period of sixteen (16) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 7.With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
