O R D E R

[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] The writ on hand has been instituted to direct respondents No.1 to 4 to take stringent action against illegal Mining activities.

2. With reference to the relief sought for in the present writ petition, the learned Government Pleader would submit that illegal mining activities have already been stopped by the authorities. Further, penalty has also been imposed.

3. In view of the submission made by the learned Government Pleader that illegal mining activities are already stopped, no further adjudication needs to be undertaken in this writ petition.

4. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. It is needless to state that the penalty imposed must be recovered by following due procedures, if not already recovered. 2/4

5. It seems that criminal case has also been registered. The authorities are bound to monitor all such illegal mining operations and initiate action to prevent such activities in public interest. There shall be no order as to costs.
