Prayer: This Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C. to direct respondent no 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner including armed escort to attend trial in District Court,Madurai For Petitioner : Mr.T.Lajapathi Roy For Respondents : Mr.K.Suyambulinga Bharathi No.1 & 2 Government Advocate (Crl.Side)

ORDER

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed to direct first and second respondents to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner including armed escort to attend trial in District Court,Madurai.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is a member of some political party and he is facing threat from the respondent 3 to 11. Hence he seeks police protection.

3. The learned Government Advocate(Crl.Side) submitted that the petitioner is a habitual offender and he is involved in cases under Section 302 of IPC. He would also submit that more than 10 FIR are pending against the petitioner.

4. Considering the above facts and circumstances of the case, police protection cannot be granted to the petitioner.
