Mr.S.M.S.Johny Basha, learned standing counsel takes notice for the respondents.

2. By consent, the writ petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself.

This Writ petition has been filed praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents 1 and 2 to consider the application of the petitioner dated 24.04.2019 and grant electricity service connection to 'Moolakarai Karupana Swamy Temple' in the name of the temple, within a stipulated time.

4. The petitioner is one Mr.M.R.Muthu, who is the Trustee of 'Moolakarai Karupana Swamy Temple' situated at K.Puthukulam Village, Kuvalaiveli Panchayat, Manamadurai Town, Sivagangai District. It is an exclusive temple constructed for the people belonging to a particular community. As there is no electricity service connection https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD)No.25620 of 2019 to the said temple, an application was made to the respondents for giving electricity service connection for the said temple by application dated 24.04.2019 in Application No. 428041977. As there is no response, the petitioner has filed the present writ petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus.

5. The learned standing counsel representing the TANGEDCO objected that the writ petition is filed in the name of an individual, but, seeking electricity service connection for a temple. But, the application made to the respondents clearly states that the petitioner is the Trustee representing 'Moolakarai Karupana Swamy Temple'.

6. The learned standing counsel for the respondents also mentions that they will not have any objection for giving supply of Low Tension Energy to the temple. However, the same will not be issued in the name of an individual.

7. The learned counsel for the petitioner is also agreeable to the same. Accordingly, the writ petition is allowed, directing the respondents to consider the Application No.428041977 dated 24.04.2019 and issue electricity service connection only in the name of the temple, if it is otherwise in order, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. No Costs.
