O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondent to dispose the Patta appeal application vide his proceedings in Na.Ka.A3/11529/2018, dated 21.05.2019 pending on the file of the respondent.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he has purchased the land in S.F.No.245/3 to an extent of 0.97.00 hectares situated at Kulathupatti Village, Singampunari Taluk, Sivagangai District through registered sale deed dated 15.02.2000 from one Andi, S/o.Alagan and patta also issued in his favour in Patta No.914. Thereafter, he is in possession and enjoyment of the same. At the time of updating the patta, inadvertently the said land in S.F.No.245/3 was inputted as Government land. He has approached the authorities to rectify the mistake and submitted an application through District Collector on 24.12.2018 and the same was forwarded to the respondent and it was taken on file by the respondent vide his proceedings in Na.Ka.A3/11529/2018, dated 21.05.2019. Thereafter, notice issued to the petitioner on 25.06.2019 and he was also 2/5

appeared for enquiry. After that no progress in the appeal. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondent.

4. Considering the above facts, this Court, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, directs the respondent to consider the petitioner's application dated 21.05.2019 and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twenty weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
