Heard Mr.V.R.Arunkumar, learned Counsel for the petitioner, Mr.S.Raja, learned Standing Counsel for the first respondent and Mr.S.C.Herold Singh, learned Standing Counsel for the second respondent. 1/5

2.This is a petition seeking initiation of contempt proceedings against the respondents for violation of the order, dated 26.07.2021, passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.12592 of 2021.

3.The petitioner was appointed as Junior Trademan in the first respondent Corporation on 19.02.1988 and was retired from service on 31.10.2019, on attaining the age of superannuation as Senior Grade Tradesman. However, the retirements benefits were given to the petitioner only on 24.01.2021. Hence, the petitioner has preferred a Writ Petition bearing W.P.(MD)No.12592 of 2021 seeking a direction to the respondents to pay the interest at the rate of 18% per annum for the period of delay from 01.11.2019 to 24.01.2021 in paying the amounts towards retirement benefits and this Court vide judgment and order, dated 26.07.2021, finally disposed of the Writ Petition with the direction to the respondents herein to pay the interest at the rate of 6% per annum on the belated payment of the retirement benefits.

4.The learned Counsel for the petitioner further submits that despite the judgment and order passed by this Court in W.P.(MD)No.12592 of 2021, dated 26.07.2021, the respondents have not complied with the directions of this Court and have wilfully and deliberately flouting the order passed by this 2/5

Court. Aggrieved over the same, the present Contempt Petition has been filed.

5.Mr.S.Raja, learned Standing Counsel for the first respondent has produced a copy of the order, dated 06.03.2025, by which, he has stated that the entire payment has been paid to the petitioner in compliance of the order passed by this Court, dated 26.07.2021. The copy of the order is produced before this Court, which is taken on record. The copy of the order, dated 06.03.2025, is also served on the learned Counsel for the petitioner. 6.Mr.S.C.Herold Singh, learned Standing Counsel for the second respondent submits that the amount, which is due to the petitioner, has been credited to the account of the petitioner today as per the directions issued by this Court.

7.Thus, the learned Counsels for the respondents submit that as the order passed by this Court has been fully complied with, the respondents may be discharged from the present contempt proceedings. 8.The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the order passed by this Court W.P.(MD)No.12592 of 2021, dated 26.07.2021, has been fully complied with and the entire amount due to the petitioner has been paid to 3/5

the petitioner and thus, he prays before this Court that the respondents may be discharged from the present contempt proceedings and the Contempt Petition may be disposed of accordingly.

9.Considering the submissions made by the learned Counsels for the parties and after perusal of the order, dated 06.03.2025 passed by the respondents, this Court is satisfied that the respondents have fully complied with the judgment and order of this Court. Thus, no useful purpose will be served in continuing the present contempt proceedings further. Accordingly, the respondents are discharged from the present contempt proceedings and the present Contempt Petition is disposed of. The file is consigned to record. No costs.
