O R D E R

Heard both sides.

2. The petitioner was awarded Ph.D. by Bharathidasan University. Subsequently, it was cancelled on the ground of plagiarism. Questioning the same, the petitioner filed W.P.(MD)No.2265 of 2023. Noting that the cancellation was done without putting the petitioner on notice, the writ petition was allowed vide order dated 15.03.2023. Liberty was given to the University to proceed afresh on merits and in accordance with law.

3. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner states that the University is yet to take final decision and that therefore the petitioner is put to hardship. The respondents cannot be technically charged with an act of Contempt. Taking note of the fact that the decision has to be taken as 2/4

3 CONT.P.(MD)NO.2148 OF 2023 expeditiously as possible, I direct the respondent University to take a call in the matter within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

4. With the aforesaid direction, this contempt petition stands disposed of.
