PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying for a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to take necessary action based on the petitioner's representation dated 26.09.2024 and allow the petitioner to resume operations of her saving bank account number A/c. No.97410100008382 maintaining in the third respondent bank.

This Writ Petition has been filed for a Mandamus seeking for a direction to the respondents to de-freeze the petitioner's bank account bearing Account No.97410100008382, based on the petitioner's representation dated 26.09.2024. 2.The petitioner claims that she is maintaining the aforesaid bank account. However, all of a sudden she was not allowed to operate the said bank account by the respondents, for the reasons best known to them. According to the petitioner, she is no way involved in any crime and therefore, the respondents cannot 2/6
prevent her from operating the bank account. The petitioner had given a representation on 26.09.2024 to the respondents seeking to permit her to continue operating the aforesaid bank account. Since the representation has not been considered, the petitioner has filed this writ petition.
3.Mr.K.Muraleedharan, learned Standing Counsel accepts notice on behalf of the respondents 2 and 3, which is the bank. Since this Court is only going to direct the respondent bank to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law, on the petitioner's representation, at this stage, there is no necessity for this Court to issue notice to the first respondent and hear him. 4.No prejudice will be caused to the respondents 2 & 3 if the petitioner's representation as stated supra is considered on merits and in accordance with law within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.
5.For the foregoing reasons, this Court directs the third respondent to pass final orders on merits and in accordance with law on the petitioner's representation dated 26.09.2024, seeking permission to continue operating her bank account bearing Account 3/6
No.97410100008382 maintained in the third respondent bank within a period of eight [8] weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
