ORDER

This Writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents to promote the petitioner as Middle School Headmaster in the available vacancy within a time to be fixed by this Court. 2.Mr.A.Thiyagarajan, learned Government Advocate takes notice on behalf of the respondents. By consent of parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.

3.According to the petitioner, he has acquired D.T.E, B.Lit and B.Ed. Initially, he was appointed as Secondary Grade Teacher in Panchyat Union Primary School, Meenakudi, Ramanathapuram District. Subsequently, he was promoted as Primary School Headmaster on 24.05.2002. His next avenue of promotion is Middle School Headmaster. As such, the respondents published the list of candidates eligible for promotion to the post of Middle School Headmaster for the year 2019. In the said panel, the name of the petitioner and 7 others were found place. Since other seven teachers have relinquished the right of promotion, the petitioner is only person eligible to be promoted as Middle School Headmaster. W.P.(MD)No.25435 of 2019 respondents, requesting them to consider his name for the promotion to the post of Middle School Headmaster for the year 2019. But, the respondents have not taken any action so far. Hence, the petitioner has come up with the present Writ petition.

4.The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner submitted that it would suffice, if a direction is issued to the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 14.11.2019. 5.Considering the nature of relief sought for by the petitioner, without going into the merits of the case, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 14.11.2019 and pass orders on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6.With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
