PRAYER : Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus forbearing the respondents from interfering the sports ground situated in Survey No.39, Arumanallur Village, Thovalai Taluk, Kannyakumari District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 18.10.2019 within the stipulated time fixed by this Court. ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.) The representation submitted by the petitioner reveals that the reserve forest area has been used as a playground by the people of that locality and the Forest Department has initiated action regarding the usage of the reserve forest area as a playground.
2.This Court do not find any infirmity in the action taken. The reserve forest is to be protected under the Provisions of the Act. Thus, the representation deserves no merit consideration. A mere direction to dispose of the representation, in the present case, would do not serve the cause of justice. 2/4
3.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected Miscellaneous Petition is closed.
