2. The petitioner challenges the decision taken in the peace committee meeting convened by the Revenue Divisional Officer, Sivagangai on 14.08.2025. The subject matter pertains to the affairs of a temple. It is seen that a civil suit has already been instituted in this regard.

3. It appears that dispute had arisen between two factions and it is still subsisting. It is definitely open to the Revenue Divisional Officer or the Tahsildar to convene a peace committee meeting and endeavour to resolve the issue amicably. However, no binding decision can be arrived at. In any event, they cannot be statutorily enforced. It is in this view of the matter, the impugned proceedings dated 14.08.2025 stand quashed. The parties will have to work out their rights in the manner known to law. This writ petition stands allowed accordingly. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
